Kenmochi Bassoon Works ( KBW )
This atelier is a special atelier of Bassoon(Fagott) based on the Bassoon
traditional construction method in Europe and the design experience in
addition to the industrial method knowledge concerning manufacturing
the woodwind. KBW will make the best use of the professional skill for
the repair and various improvements suitable for the customer's demand,
and do elaborate work. Additionally, it responds to the consultation about
the customer to whom intonation of Bassoon (Fagott) and the adjustment
of tone quality are wanted. And, because the customer and KBW do enough
meeting about details of the repair and remodeling, the customer can entrust

Left photograph is a cutter that is used for the hole dawning
processing when shaft and screw are installed in key-post, and
used for the processing that adjusts the space between key-tube
and shaft. The diameter of φ0.1 becomes though upper Sparal
drill is chiefly used because of the wind instrument production,
and some general accuracy becomes ±0.02. "Spitzbohrer" under
the photograph is a traditional, handmade cutter that can show
the accuracy of ±0.001 or more, and enables a minute adjustment
that exists in processing conditions. The accuracy is an area of
"Master world". It is very effective in the shaft adjustment of
"J "character type "Stift" used for "Old Heckel type" etc.
It becomes a necessary tool in the repair and remodeling this part.
